MW Bro Tsen Fu Wei was born on the 15th of June 1896 in Canton, China. He started his high school education in the Chinese YMCA and afterward the Middle School of Nanyang College (Chiaotung University).


Realized that China needs a strong navy, our MW Bro Wei was admitted to the Mercantile in 1913. In 1915 he was chosen among a group of young Chinese naval officers to receive submarine training at the Electric Boat Company, New London, Connecticut, USA. Next year he enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology major in naval architecture and marine engineering. After graduation with a degree of Bachelor of Science in 1920 he spent another year for practical experience in many big shipyards.


Upon his return in 1921, he was assigned to the Kiangnan Docks, Shanghai and then transferred to the Admiralty in Nanking. In 1923, he was released and became engineer in the Canton Arsenal as Superintendent of Works. He remained at his position in the Arsenal until 1927. Our MW Bro viewed the need of his country in a new light, so he changed the course of his personal career from armament to national reconstruction.


In 1927 he joined the China Electric Company, a subsidiary Company of International Telegraph and Telephone. He supervised the outside plant when China Electric Co concluded a contract with the Canton Government to install all automatic telephone system in Canton. Upon completion he was transferred to Shanghai in 1929 as Cable Supervisor for the Shanghai Telephone Co. His administrative talent and rich experience in the field of engineering appointed the Managing Director the Shanghai Telephone Administration.


Due to Japanese invasion and civil wars he resigned and join the Jardine Engineering Corporation as the sales Engineer for Canton and HK; after that, four years with the Kailan Mining Administration as their South China Representative and subsequently Shanghai Agent, until the WWII. After the Japanese surrender he resumed his office as Kailan Mining Administration in June 1950 and is now the Technical Manager of Foneiere et Immobiliere de Chine with its head office in Shanghai.

 

The Light of Masonry first shined on our MW Bro in 1933 when he was initiated, passed and raised in Pearl River Lodge No 109, P.C. In 1937 he was instrumental in organizing Sun Lodge No 114, P.C. and was one of its founders. He served as Secretary, Treasurer, Wardens and was finally elected Master in 1940. In the District Grand Lodge of the Philippines Islands Constitution he served two terms as District Grand Marshal and one term as Junior District Warden.


In Scottish Rite Freemasonry he served as Venerable Master of Yangtse Lodge of Perfection No 3 in 1948, Wise Master of Shanghai Chapter of Rose Croix No 3, in 1949, and was elected Master of Kadosh of Orient Consistory No 1 in 1950. In 1949 at the Washington Conference he was made a K.C.C.H.

In the Royal Arch Masons he was exalted in Keystone Chapter No 1, Shanghai in 1948 and is now holding the Office of Principle Sojourner. In the Mystic Shrine he is a member of the Aahmes Temple of Oakland, California, and of Nomad Oasis, tje Shrine Club of Shanghai.


Our MW. Bro is always socially active. He became prominent in the following activities: President, Shanghai Rotary Club, District Governor for Central cHINA and Representative at the Rotary International Convention in 1948; President of MIT Club and American University Club in Shanghai; a member of the General Committee of the Cercle Sportif de Shanghai.


With his vast experience in business, religious and civic organizations, our MW Bro Wei was called upon finally to assume the most solemn duty of the MW GM of the GLOC. Ever since the inauguration of this Grand Body, he was one of the leading Grand Officers, serving two terms as SGW and was elected GM at the second Annual Communication on Oct 6 1950. May the Supreme Architect bless our MW GM and let the light of Masonry blaze in this territory throughout the term of his office.

第二屆總會長   韋增復尊兄

 

韋增復尊兄 1896 年 6 月 15 日出生於中國廣東。他在中國基督教青年會開始他的高中教育,之後進入南洋學院(交通大學)中學。

 

意識到中國需要強大的海軍,韋增復尊兄於 1913 年進入商船。1915 年,他在一批年輕的中國海軍軍官被選中,在美國康乃狄克州新倫敦的電動船公司(Electric Boat Company)接受潛艇訓練。次年,他就讀於麻省理工學院,主修海軍建築和海洋工程。 1920 年獲得理學學士學位後,他又花了一年時間在許多大型造船廠實習。

 

 

1921年回國後,被分配到上海江南造船廠,後調往南京海軍部。 1923 年,他改任廣州兵工廠的工程師,擔任工程總監。直到 1927 年,他一直在兵工廠擔任職務。韋增復尊兄以新的眼光看待他的國家的需要,因此他將個人職業生涯從軍備轉向國家重建。

 

1927年加入國際電報電話公司下屬的中國電力公司。 當中國電氣公司與廣州政府簽訂合同,在廣州安裝全自動電話系統時,他負責監督外部工廠。 1929年,他被調往上海,擔任上海電話公司的電纜主管。他在工程領域的管理才能和豐富經驗被任命為上海電話局的總經理。

 

因日本入侵及內戰,辭去怡和工程公司廣東及香港銷售工程師職務;之後,在開灤礦務總局擔任華南代表和隨後的上海代理四年,直到二戰結束。 日本投降後,他於 1950 年 6 月恢復擔任開灤礦務總局的職務,現在是中國不動產(Foneiere et Immobiliere de Chine) 的技術經理,總部設在上海。

美生之光於 1933 年首次照耀在韋增復尊兄身上,當時他在恆廬第109分會入會,轉化,提升。 1937 年,他在指導建立申廬第 114分會中發揮了重要作用,並且是它的創始人之一。他曾擔任秘書、司庫、會監,並最終於 1940 年當選為會長。在菲律賓美生總會中,他曾擔任兩屆區總司禮和一屆區副總會監。

 

在慈修會(蘇格蘭禮美生會),他於 1948 年擔任慈修會揚子江完美會廬第三分會會長、上海玫瑰十架第三分會會長,1949 年擔任上海玫瑰十架第三分會會長和東方宗教法庭第一分會會長,並被冊封為法制榮譽騎士長(Knight Commander Court of Honor; K.C.C.H.) ,1950 年當選東方宗教法庭第一分會會長。

 

他於 1948 年加入上海的皇家拱門美生第1號基石分會,現在擔任 Principal Sojourner。在慈壇社中,他是加州奧克蘭阿赫姆斯慈壇社和上海神殿俱樂部游牧綠洲的成員。

 

韋增復尊兄也在以下社交活動中表現突出: 1948 年上海扶輪社主席、中國中部地區總監和國際扶輪大會代表;上海麻省理工學院俱樂部和美國大學俱樂部主席; Cercle Sportif de Shanghai委員大會委員。

 

憑藉他在商業、宗教和公民組織方面的豐富經驗,韋增復尊兄最終被要求承擔 中國美生總會的總會長這個最莊嚴的職責。自從中國美生總會就職以來,他一直是主要的總會職員之一,擔任了兩屆總會堅,並在 1950 年 10 月 6 日的第二次年會中被選為總會長。願宇宙最高建築師保佑韋增復尊兄,讓美生光明在他的整個任期內遍照於中土神州。

國際扶輪社 3510地區,韋增復社友,體認在臺灣拓展扶輪運動之重要,希望能早日完成台灣、港、澳單獨設立一個扶輪地區。並將扶輪拓展至臺灣東部,遂選定距離臺北比較近的宜蘭作為創辦新社的主要目標,在1954年12月假省立宜蘭醫院(宜蘭大病院)會議室成立「宜蘭臨時扶輪社」。1954年高雄社成立任行政顧問,1955年屏東社成立 任行政顧問,1955年嘉義社成立任行政顧問。
